Er Rational musings #480
...not so long ago, there was a fad of keeping 2 mobile phones. 'Cellelity' (!) ie 'Mobility' (!) ie 'cell phone technology' was in a nascent stage. Dual sim card phones were yet to be discovered, let alone phones with micro n nano sim.
Battery life was mere 800 mAh or so. So, one was compelled to use 2 phones. If the usage demanded it, offcourse!
I used to carry a spare battery (battery for my mobile!) in my pocket. Sometime later, I started carrying a spare mobile handset itself. Thus, when the battery got exhausted, I could replace the battery or I could use the sim in new handset.
गरज ही शोधाची जननी असते असं म्हणतात.
Now there are Lithium ion batteries. Then there are mobile phones with dual sim. Then the life of batteries was increased to 2300 mAh, to 2600 mAh to 3200 mAh and so on. And external chargers, now...
Maybe, no, hopefully, we would be using mobiles with 1000 mAh batteries, soon...
