Er Rational musings #569

I was sipping my morning tea and was reading newspapers. Bristol, the bulldog, was sitting next to me. He was also going through various newspapers. (Remember? He is a very learned dog; unlike other dogs. He keeps a tab on happenings all over the world.)



"Radiologists are planning to go on indefinite strike", he was half saying half asking.



I tried to explain. "Look, the government is doing it's job. It's trying to ensure that proper methodology is followed while people are coming for pathological tests".



"Don't try to fool me, dear master!"



Bristol has started calling me by that "master" something, of late. I could sense a mocking way, but could not be 100% sure about it, whenever he utters 'that' word!!



"My dear master, you know better than that. Have you seen any MD or MS doctor giving injection to the patient? It's a job of good old MBBS - a family doctor. Similarly, how can one expect Radiologists to conduct the tests themselves?" Bristol continued.



"No, no, thats not the issue.." I murmured.



Bristol thundered, "if that's not the issue, then why these highly qualified Radiologists planning a stir!? An indefinite strike? It's not done. Don't they come under aegis of MARD?"



"But MARD also goes on flash strikes. Indefinite strikes, at a drop of a hat!!" I tried to reason with Bristol.



Bristol was studying me intently, while I spoke.



He added calmly "As I see it, everyone, except a common man, has a point of view to prove! Bank employees, doctors, auto rickshaw men, taxi drivers, teachers, municipality workers, train drivers etc, and now, even policemen, can go on strike. Everybody who is organised, can go on strike, threatening, holding lacs of common people, and the system, to ransom. Now, why don't these hijackers understand that what will happen to them, if the common man himself, goes on strike??!!"



I just looked at him, absent mindedly, trying to figure out where am I and with whom?
