A few stray thoughts and a few general observations (all my own work)

A common man - law abiding citizen's needs n expectations are not much. Continuously, ie 24 hours his all activities, in a way, directly or indirectly, depend on services offered by somebody else, be it a Government / Semi Government or Private entity.



Water, Electricity, Transportation - road / rail / metro / mono / water / air travel and/or a simple walk, Communication, Police, other functions like taxes, Banks, Hospitals, Education, Leisure, Entertainment, Sports, to name a few, are the services wherein Central / Sate Government or Local bodies like Municipal Corporation is a Major Service Provider.



A common man's concern is very simple. Live and Let Live. He expects, n rightly so, an efficient n just SERVICE PROVIDER. He is directly n indirectly paying for all of them. He asks for 24x7x365 power, transportation, water, communication, security, medicare, etc. He does not like to dole out his hard earned money on favouritism, He is by nature, against corruption. He wants hassle free redressal of his issues.



Current Government needs to take into account all strata of citizens. Industry, Farmer, Labour, ... to end Consumer, complete chain is looking at some value addition, which will make everybody's life easier. Even 1 15-20% change in functioning shall bring cheers.



Suggestion for improvements:



List down all functions meticulously. Make a Work Breakdown Structure. Fix boundaries n limits of responsibility. Allocate responsibility. Put into place a monitoring mechanism.

Divide into four broad categories like Priority, Urgency, Importance and Need. Take small but sure steps first. Have a political will. and if intentions are clear and pure, success can not be far away!

Before elections



~ Like, opinion poll/exit poll results are indicative of Congress rout.



~ Like, Congress is banking on similar situation and subsequent turn around in it's victory of 2004 n 2009.



~ Like, this time around the BJP led NDA seems to be winning hands down!



~ Like, the UPA will be dis arrayed and most of them, the opportunists, shall flock on NDA doors!



~ And like, some of friends of friends of mine in FB are giving guarded responses to my friends posts since then. These Psudos are waiting for night of May 16th. If UPA wins, will launch a frontal attack. And if NDA wins, all will go into hiding n mourning!



Would be interesting to watch, see, observe, notice, read and hear the conversations after final results.

1. 16th aug 2014



Lot of residential/commercial development is happening all around Mumbai/Thane. So we have 'New' Cuffe Parade, 'New' Panvel, 'New' Thane and so on...I wonder whether postal address of such towns/Cities is officially recognised?



2. 16th aug 2014



Mumbai Times - supplement of Maharashtra Times carries DP update daily, wherein 4 photos each of a girl/boy are displayed. Invariably at least 2 photos of the boys are, one with sunglasses and second on a bike. Girls have at least one photo of sleeveless dress.):P



3. 3rd sept 2014



How do you hail an auto rickshaw? Men will whistle/whistle/make some sound from mouth/move a hand. Ladies? They all have a common n unique habit of lifting their hand perfectly 90° in front of them n moving their wrist frantically two/three times whenever they see one!!
