~ With the advent of TVs & personal computers during 90s, we did use additional screen which we used to clip on the PC monitor. (Remember? During initial years...) To reduce radiation & to protect your eyes..now we don't use it...

~ With the advent of mobile phones, during initial years there was so called fear that by keeping cell phone in pockets may damage either your kidneys or heart..remember? Now we handle cellphones any which way we like...

~ With mobiles came Cell towers on top of buildings.. now there is an apprehension about radiation from mobile towers!!

Technological advancements vis a vis fear psychosis vis a vis improvements...Never(ever) ending processes...

Undoubtedly, Mikhail Gorbachev, architect of Glasnost (Openness) and Perestroika (Restructuring) and T.N. Seshan, architect of Electoral reforms in India are the two most towering personalities of the 90s.

While, the US-USSR relationship, & thus the global scenario was drastically altered because of Gorbachev, it can be reasonably reiterated that Seshan was instrumental in overhauling Indian political scenario.

We have the world around us as it is and now, the "Modified" India, because of them.

Thanks both!!!!!

Half of Mumbai's traffic woes shall be solved if,:

A. There are footpaths on either side, free of squatters, illegal extension of shop display areas, free of potholes, plain and walkable.

B. Width of the footpath is in ratio and type of road. eg. Single/double median, arterial, main, sub lane and so on. Ideally footpath width is to be 1/4th of the road width.

C. Disciplinary drive n walk n parking.

D. No walking on roads and no driving on footpaths!

 E. Patience, self control/discipline and no road rage.
