My Mumbai...



~ Sterling, Excelsior, Regal, Eros, Metro, Capitol, Empire, Liberty theatres were frequented by us often.

We have watched quite a few, almost all, Hollywood films during this period.

Clint Eastwood, SciFi movies like Star Wars, James Bond, Woman in Red, Conan, Ben-Hur, Where eagles dare, Guns of Navarone, Ghostbusters, Mackennas Gold, The Godfather, Other side of midnight and so on. The list is exhaustive.

~ Favourite joints were Hotel Empire for tea(s) n solving Afternoon or Mid Day jumbo crosswords and Hotel Oval for beer(s).

~ Eating of 'raan' in Bhendi Bazaar, mutton masala/kheema at police canteen, veg thali at Kshudha Shanti, bhel puri at Tarabaug, pattice at Cabana, pav bhaji and kulfi ice cream at Nana Chowk and Tardeo, pudding, bun maska at Voice of Asia, chicken at Bade miyan, juice at Badshah, and every damn thing available!

~ Tea, (pani cum), at each n every Irani hotel existed on earth!

~ Drinks parties at each n every bar n restaurant, big or small, available!

~ Visiting Asiatic society library for browsing and membership of British Council library for reading lot many books.

~ Regular at art exhibitions at Jahangir Art gallery. Coffee and meet ups at Samovar.

~ Stargazing at Queens necklace. Hours spent looking out at the sea at Marine drive and Gateway of India.



And what not? You name it, we have (done) it!



This @ll was possible due to 'flexi hours' kinda employment and 24x7x365 work schedule of emergency nature at that point of time.
