We have been taught that Best > Better > Good, right?
Then why we call and wish/express (only) Good Morning, Good Afternoon, Good Night etc? Instead of Best Morning, Best Afternoon, Best Night?
It may be because, Best means Unsurpassable, Unparalleled n Unbeatable (which is simply impossible in 99.99% of the cases).
Excellent means Outstanding, First-rate n Exceptionally Good.
Therefore, let's wish, greet @ll and say Excellent Morning, Excellent Afternoon and Excellent Night.
Well, Good Afternoon, err, Excellent Afternoon...
