A few years back, there was one advertisement on TV about L&T.

A little girl pointing towards a Steel Man (sculpture) located in a lawn on the backdrop of an industrial plant, and saying with pride, "मेरे पापा यहाँ काम करते हैं।"



I can, also, say with pride, "मैं यहाँ काम करता था।"



Really, I mean it.



A small time trading company, started by two young danish entrepreneurs, visionaries, Mr Henning Holck-Larsen and Mr Soren K Toubro, having a small office at Ballard Estate, in 1937. Now grown into a multi billion dollar Conglomerate.



Mr A M Naik, who joined as a Junior Engineer in L&T in 1965, is now the Group Executive Chairman; he was & is instrumental in taking L&T to great Heights. Naik साहेब was conferred with Padmabhushan in 2009. (a junior employee of the company, rising to the post of Chairman and Managing Director, is possible ONLY in such a professionally managed company!!) Kudos.



Great company to work with. Thoroughly professional. In Approach, Processes, and Systems etc. I learnt a great deal here. Most prominently, Punctuality ie importance of Time.



Larsen साहेब was conferred with Padmabhushan in 2002. Great man.



I was fortunate in having meeting Larsen साहेब personally. Even shaking hands with him; as also, having his personally signed 'Thank You' letter addressed to me. A great feeling.
