Bang opposite Matunga Railway station, this marvellous place and me, go back a long way. I used to have my lunch here often.



Since 1987-88 till today, whenever I find myself near Dadar, at noon, I make it a point to relish the 'plate meal', a limited lunch with unlimited sambhar n rasam. Extra coupons need to be bought for all extra items, including sweets (there are 4-5 variety of sweets, to choose from like rasagulla, amrakhanda, payasam etc). Monthly pass is @lso available. Unlimited meal is also served, either on a baanana leaf (आडव ठेवलेले केळीचे पान) or normal taat, as per choice.



Menu consists of 1 vati sambhar, 1 vati rasam (refill it, @lways), 3 bhaajis, 2 phulke, 2 mud bhaat, 1 papad, 1 vati taak, 1 vati dahi n lonche. @lmost 28-29 years n still, the same feeling. A great experience!



~ During 1987-88 to I think @ 1996, one table, near cashier counter (on his left), was kept reserved for one old aajoba, who used to come exactly at @1 pm, had his specific diet special service (food was same) quietly, without uttering a word and leave. During those hours, a specially made name plate was put onto his table, which read - "our oldest customer!"
